No immigration legal services at this location. Education and classes in a variety of subjects (including citizenship). Employment hub where workers can register themselves and their skills and clients can hire workers. Referrals to social services. Help with taxes. Help obtaining a CASA photo ID.

Hyattsville

Program Description:

Seeks to improve the quality of life and legal justice for Latinos and low-income families through legal education, legal services, and advocacy projects. Offers legal consultations and representation for day laborers, domestic workers, and tenants. Negotiates claims, brings lawsuits in state and federal courts for nonpayment of wages, minimum wage and overtime violations, unlawful wage deductions, discriminatory employment practicies, retalitory discharges, and involuntary servitude. Provides legal assistance to low-wage tenants and tenant associations on landlord/tenant issues.

Hyattsville Welcome Center

Program Description:

7978 New Hampshire Ave., Hyattsville, MD 20783

Provides legal services and representation, information and referrals, employment placement services, job skills training, ESOL classes, and leadership development. Also contains a training lab and receives visiting instructors from Prince George’s Community College who teach vocational training courses to prepare workers for jobs in construction. The center is also CASA’s ID site.
